When columnist Faye Flam wanted to explore the reasons why women get breast implants, she called Dr. Ted Eisenberg for his expert opinion. Her article, “No End to the Quest for More Curves,” was picked up by the Knight Ridder News Service and appeared in newspapers around the world from Taiwan to Seattle. Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Ted

In late October 2007, Dr. Eisenberg was invited to be a guest speaker at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery’s World Congress on Advances in Cosmetic Surgery. The meeting, held in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, was attended by physicians from around the world, including Argentina, Australia, India, Japan, Romania, and Egypt. Dr. Eisenberg presented two lectures: “Results of My 3126 Bilateral Submuscular Breast Augmentations,” and “Breast Augmentation: Minimizing Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV) and Maximizing Patient Satisfaction.” He also attended the grand opening of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital in Dubai, the world’s first cosmetic surgery hospital/luxury boutique hotel.

In January, Dr. Eisenberg presented these two lectures to American cosmetic surgeons at the AACS Scientific Meeting, “The Art of Perfection” in Orlando, FL. His article on postoperative nausea and vomiting was published in the December 2008 issue of The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery.

Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Ted
Using a pioneering technique involving soft tissue expansion, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Eisenberg created a new nose for Doris Quirk, an operating room nurse who lost her nose to cancer. Although a prosthetic nose was made for her, she hated having to take it off at night. She wanted to have a restoration with her own skin and bone. Dr. Eisenberg accomplished this by placing a tissue expander in Doris' forehead; he then used expanded skin from the forehead and bone from her hip. The story was featured in the following media:

Pete Melchionne had tried everything from hair transplants and synthetic implants to wearing hairpieces and hats to cover the unsightly scars in his scalp, from shrapnel wounds suffered when he was a young Marine in North Korea. In a groundbreaking plastic surgery operation performed in the Philadelphia area for the first time, Dr. Eisenberg implanted tissue expanders filled with saline in Pete's scalp and slowly stretched it over four months. When the implants were removed, Dr. Eisenberg cut away the bald area and sewed the hair-covered flaps together, giving Pete a full head of hair. The story was featured in the following media:

Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Ted Eisenberg and several of his patients were profiled in this article about soft-tissue expansion, one of the most rapidly growing areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He used this technique to create a breast for a young woman with Poland's syndrome, in which one breast remains undeveloped at maturity, and to build a new nose for an older woman who lost her nose to cancer.
